Commissioned Designer Paintings

I love to go into someone's home and work with them to design a unique, personally individual painting that fits their  color scheme, personality and designer flair.    Too often people have to visit gallery after gallery to find the right painting for a certain room and either never find it or settle for something that isn't quit the vision they  had.    If you would like to commission me to paint something that fits your home decor, contact me and we'll discuss your vision/ideas or work on one that becomes uniquely yours.   Here are some samples of my work.

This 16" x 20" oil on canvas was done for my client who wanted something in the powder room to match the Daffodil and Narcissus theme that was on her hand towels.  The walls were a warm buttery yellow.  This is the result.

This 16" x 20" abstract oil was commissioned for my client's dining room.  After going to her home and discussing ideas for the abstract she wanted, we decided on something that should vaguely look like a martini glass with a swizzle stick and olive.  I photographed  her dining room so I could match the wall color.   Success!  The color matched her walls exactly!

This commissioned oil called "Cindy's Still Life", was painted for my client's kitchen.  She wasn't sure what she wanted, but had a space available on her wall that begged for an original painting.

I looked at the colors and personal design she had in her kitchen and took  photographs  for a customized still life.    The result is on the left.

This commissioned oil, called "Karen's Lily Pond", was painted for my client's bedroom above her bed.

It is painted on a 48" x 36" stretched, gallery wrapped canvas.

This painting is available as a Giclee print on stretched canvas.

Daylilies:  Original Oil on 24" x 30" Gallery Wrapped Canvases

I was asked to paint something for my clients that would fill up their large, lofted wall in their living room.    However, my clients didn't really know what they wanted.  Initially they wanted a mural, but since they live in Pennsylvania and I live in South Carolina, I was not able to spend the weeks it would take to paint a mural for them.    I suggested a series of large, gallery wrapped paintings instead, which they liked.  Since they didn't know what they wanted as far as a subject matter, I went to their home and took photographs of their furniture and other favorite paintings for inspiration.    I also measured their wall where the paintings would go.  After bouncing ideas around with them, it was agreed that flowers would be the theme in the colors of their living room and it would be in oil.

I then went home, studied my floral books and found that Daylilies would work perfectly with their colors.  I sketched in colored pencil  3 separate designs, shapes and sizes for them to choose from and emailed them to my clients.  They chose the above size and designs.  The paintings extend on all 4 sides of the gallery wrapped canvas.  I'm happy to say they loved them!

This mural was commissioned for a client who had lived a few years in Italy and wanted a scene from the Amalfi coast on her kitchen wall.  The wall size was 12' x 8' and had a heating vent, a temperature gauge and electrical outlets on the wall in places where she couldn't hang a painting or do much else with it.  She wanted to feel like she was sitting on a terrace in her kitchen looking out on the Adriatic sea.  She came up with the picture she wanted me to paint and this is the result.  Can you see the air vent and temperature gauge?
